La Fundación Tercer Milenio ha puesto recientemente en marcha Redperiodistas.com, una red social para promover el periodismo digital en Andalucía. La herramienta 2.0 que da soporte a esta comunidad ha sido desarrollada gracias a los incentivos concedidos por la Consejería de Innovación, Ciencia y Empresa de la Junta de Andalucía y los fondos FEDER de la Unión Europea.La aplicación permite a los periodistas crear un perfil y posicionar sus contenidos junto a los de otros profesionales de la comunicación gracias a la tecnología de sindación de contenidos (RSS). Los usuarios pueden valorar fácilmente los artículos publicados, haciendo que sus autores ganen posisciones en el ranking de la red.Otras características que se tienen en cuenta a la hora de posicionar a los autores de los blogs periodísticos son su Page Rank (PG) en Google y el número de visitas que los usuarios del portal hacen a su bitácora desde Redperiodistas.com. Próximamente, los periodistas que incluyan un botón de la red social en su blog podrán obtener nuevas ventajas para posicionar sus contenidos en la aplicación.
